Case Study: Tehran Oil Refining Company
Abstract: In the dynamic environment of organizational management, delays can cascade into significant inefficiencies. This article delves into the procrastination behaviors observed among employees, particularly focusing on the tendency to postpone essential work activities—a phenomenon often linked with heightened anxiety levels. The study’s objective is to unravel the intricate web of factors that contribute to procrastination within the management systems of organizations.
Methodology: The research employs exploratory factor analysis to dissect the procrastination issue, with a sample size comprising 375 individuals from the Tehran Oil Refining Company. These participants provided valuable insights by completing descriptive questionnaires designed to capture the nuances of their work-related procrastination tendencies.
Findings: The analysis yielded compelling evidence that procrastination within the organization is influenced by a triad of factors: organizational, personal, and environmental. Each factor carries a weight of significance, with organizational factors taking precedence, followed by personal and environmental factors, respectively. The study quantifies these influences using standard coefficients, offering a clear hierarchy of impact.
Implications: Understanding these procrastination drivers is pivotal for developing targeted interventions aimed at enhancing productivity and reducing work-related anxiety. The insights garnered from this study could inform policy changes and training programs tailored to mitigate the identified factors, ultimately fostering a more efficient and psychologically healthy workplace.
