Getting Started with Windows Narrator
Turn On Narrator:
Press Ctrl + Windows logo key + Enter to start or stop Narrator.
Alternatively, go to Settings > Ease of Access > Narrator and toggle the switch to turn it on.
Basic Navigation:
Read the current item: Press Caps Lock + M.
Read the next item: Press Caps Lock + Right Arrow.
Read the previous item: Press Caps Lock + Left Arrow.
Activate an item: Press Enter.
Reading Text:
Read from the current location: Press Caps Lock + R.
Read the current window: Press Caps Lock + W.
Stop reading: Press Ctrl.
Changing Narrator Settings:
Open the Narrator settings by pressing Caps Lock + F1.
Adjust voice speed, volume, and pitch as needed.
Using Scan Mode:
Turn on Scan Mode: Press Caps Lock + Spacebar.
Navigate by character: Press Left Arrow or Right Arrow.
Navigate by word: Press Ctrl + Left Arrow or Ctrl + Right Arrow.
Navigate by line: Press Up Arrow or Down Arrow.
Keyboard Shortcuts:
Search for a command: Press Caps Lock + F.
List all Narrator commands: Press Caps Lock + F2.
Additional Tips
Narrator Home: When you start Narrator, the Narrator Home window opens, providing quick access to settings and help.
